Ten years ago, I wrote The Fast-5 Diet and the Fast-5 Lifestyle, the first book to encourage a daily cycle of intermittent fasting (also known as time-restricted eating or time-restricted feeding) for weight loss. Since then, Fast-5 has spread worldwide and has been translated into five other languages. A lot of new programs have come out, but none are simpler, more reliable or less expensive than Fast-5. Since I knew of nothing better than Fast-5, I had nothing new to write on the subject…until now.
Based on the past decade of personal communication with Fast-5ers around the world, a new perspective evolved: Fast-5 works as well as it does because it is a tool for appetite correction. Appetite correction means getting the appetite center of the core of the human brain to work as well as it does for non-human and non-human-fed animals: not too much fat, not too little.
My new book, AC: The Power of Appetite Correction, describes 16+ non-drug, non-surgical tools for appetite correction, providing a new way forward for a healthy lifestyle of weight loss and weight maintenance.
